In October of 2015 B. Denise Patton was selected as the Fund Advisor for the Nonprofit Management Fund. As the Fund Advisor for the Nonprofit Management Fund, Patton manages the donor managed fund, awarding grants to small and medium size nonprofit organizations. She acts as the face of the Fund, balancing relationships between funders, potential grantees and the nonprofit sector as a whole. She manages the grant-making process of the Fund, including fiscal management, reporting, and communications with applicants and grantees throughout the process.

She is responsible for engaging current funders and helping to attract additional funders; reviewing applications for due diligence and match to guidelines; advises grant applicants on grant guidelines, criteria and reporting requirements; meets with applicants and grantees as needed. Patton’s work includes planning, researching related trends in organizational effectiveness and identifying the needs of area nonprofits all of which is central to her work at the Fund. She also drafts policies for Committee review and approval and determines need and format for training workshops for nonprofits and
Patton has a proven track record in service with the nonprofit sector, with more than twenty-five (25) years of combined experience as an employee and consultant, providing a wide array of expertise and management.
Patton launched BDP & Associates, a performance management consulting firm, in 1999 and has been providing services in the following areas: organization development; workforce development (including sector base); strategic and annual planning; Board development and training; youth and adult training; training curriculum design, development, implementation and evaluation; community-based nonprofit program
development and management; development and implementation of assessment and evaluation systems; project management; participation compliance coordination; group facilitation, team building and executive coaching.
Patton is a certified Diagnostic Clinic consultant and Board Development consultant through the Non-profit Management Fund, trained in organization assessment and development, systems evaluation, instrumentation and Board & staff development.
Patton was trained and accredited by Human Synergistics International (HSI), to use the HSI system and psychometric evaluation instruments and provide training and development and planning for individuals, groups and organizations with evaluation as a key component for measurement of outcomes.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING
Patton has a Masters degree in Education (2004), with a double major in Organization Development (specialization in Assessment & Evaluation) and Instructional Design and a Bachelor’s degree (double major) in Business Management and Professional Communications (1982) both received from Alverno College, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
