New Market Environment
Conference
The conference
planning committee is considering various ideas as a
"next step" to follow the symposium. Three
areas which received considerable interest are activities
which address the following:
- Information about
best practices and activities that build successful
nonprofit organization in the new environment.
- Information about
funding and financing in the new environment,
and how both funders and recipients are affected.
- Information about
public policy in the new environment, i.e.,
local taxation of nonprofits, regulations regarding
purchase of service contracts, and the role of the
state and federal regulators.
In cooperation
with the original confrence co-sponsors, the Urban Economic
Development Association, Nonprofit Center and Center for
Urban Initiatives and Research at UW-Milwaukee have developed
a proposal for moving forward. For more information, contact
