The Ability Center established a founding Board of six through a recruitment process. The consultant conducted a new Board orientation and provided guidance in running their first meeting, at which they approved governance policies, bylaws, and a new manual. The consultant was able to facilitate a planning exercise and left behind fundraising materials. His feedback: “Having a working board is priceless. We have already begun to organize committees and have the tools in place to recruit additional board members. With the Nonprofit Management Fund’s grant….she has helped give me as the founder of the organization the confidence to move forward and confirmed the validity of and need for [our] mission, vision, and goals.” |
