The Milwaukee County Historical Society learned more about the role of its Board of Directors in governing and supporting the organization and its activities through this project. The revised corporate structure put into place during the course of the project should also help to ensure continued observance of these newly-won perspectives for years to come. This also included development of a broader and more reliable income base to provide for adequate staffing, facilities, and programs, as well as improved program quality, which engages residents and visitors alike in the history of Milwaukee County. The Milwaukee County Historical Society gained a very useful understanding of the financial situation resulting from a five-year period of building renovations coupled with the economic downturn.
