Technology Initiative- ASSESSMENTS

Technology assessments provide an unbiased review of existing technology and its use, and form the basis for a plan to improve a nonprofit organization's use of computers, communication devices and media technologies.

Through ENTECH, a project housed at UW - Milwaukee's Center for Urban Initiatives and Research, a team of students from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee conducts assessments of nonprofit organizations.

After a visit of 2-4 hours onsite, a detailed report is then written, outlining specific recommendations relating to planning, policies, hardware, software, networking, and implementation strategies for each participating nonprofit. You can click here to see a glossary of the technical terms used in the report.

To apply for an assessment, contact ENTECH - Empowering Nonprofits in Technology at (414) 229-2913.

"The report gave us a solid foundation on which to develop the plan, it also helped us think about technology for the organization in general, not just the programs."
Aurora Weier Education Center

"I would highly recommend this process for any other non-profit organization, even those with IT staff."
